I had the honor to lead a unique institution that has absorbed the richest traditions of Russian medicine.

National Medical Research Radiological Centre (NMRRC) united the best schools in surgery, radiology and urology, which were created by our great teachers – Peter Alexandrovich Hertsen, Anatoly Fedorovich Tsyba and Nikolai Alexandrovich Lopatkin.

The doctors of the Center own all the latest technologies in the field of treatment of malignant neoplasms, including within the framework of international protocols, which they not only successfully master, but also often create new techniques, which are then used by colleagues in the workshop.

Our specialists perform unique operations: they completely restore speech and normal functions of the tongue, pharynx, larynx from the patient’s own biomaterial; we perform radioembolization using domestic microspheres developed by our center, we perform brachytherapy of the liver and pancreas using the domestic radioisotope iodine 125. Proper routing between the branches of the Center allows the patient who has applied to us to receive a full range of combined and complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including surgery, various options of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. There are ample opportunities for international cooperation – we provide our expert opinion to colleagues from respected foreign cancer centers.

The main asset of our Center is, of course, people. Scientists, doctors, nurses, specialists in various related fields, because modern oncology is an interdisciplinary science and practice – all those who make it possible for our united cluster to be among the well–known and respected cancer centers of the world.

Everyone who constantly saves people’s lives, and every time they go to the forefront of the fight against the plague of the XXI century.

3.5 thousand employees, 3.5 thousand destinies, characters, approaches in the profession, views on life outside of it. And one task for everyone is to return life to a person, to hit the “immortal” cancer cell. It can only be a united and cohesive team, which, I believe, we managed to form in our Center.
