Clinical laboratory diagnostics
Clinical laboratory diagnostics at the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation covers all areas from general clinical research methods to specific highly specialized tests presented in our Center for the effective treatment of patients with cancer diagnosis. The research carried out in specialized laboratories of NMIC Radiology is carried out by highly qualified specialists using advanced equipment and meets all existing requirements. Clinical laboratory diagnostics is an inseparable part of the treatment of oncological diseases – laboratory diagnostics doctors work in tandem with doctors of specialized specialties, taking an active part in the development of treatment tactics. Modern research methods allow doctors to quickly and accurately determine the patient’s condition and, in particular, identify diseases at the initial stages of development.
In the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, clinical laboratory diagnostics is presented in all branches. On the pages of the departments you will find detailed information about the available research methods and preparation for them:
- P.A. Herzen Institute
- MRSC named after A.F. Tsyba
- N.A. Lopatkin Research Institute of Urology and Interventional Radiology
Conducting research is available both within the framework of the MHI (with a referral) so it is in the format of paid services. Recording is performed by phone numbers of NMIC Radiology branches.
Please note that the appointment of the necessary studies for further treatment is based on the results of the consultation.
Clinical laboratory diagnostics in oncology
Through the use of innovative technical components, clinical laboratory diagnostics plays a key role in cancer screening, detection and control. As an important component of the treatment process, the results of laboratory studies provide information necessary for making informed decisions in the treatment of patients diagnosed with cancer.
- early detection of cancer
One of the main achievements of laboratory diagnostics is the possibility of early detection of cancer. Modern types of laboratory diagnostics combined with instrumental research methods increase the chances of a successful cure.
- molecular diagnostics
Molecular genetic testing allows the identification of specific genetic changes associated with certain types of cancer, which provides opportunities for a personalized treatment approach. Molecular genetic studies are carried out as prescribed and after consulting a specialist. An appointment is made by phone or via the feedback form.
- evaluation of the effectiveness of treatment
Clinical laboratory diagnostics plays an important role in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment. Doctors monitor the patient’s condition and the effectiveness of antitumor therapy by the level of biomarkers.
- prediction of results and monitoring of relapses
Modern methods of laboratory diagnostics are actively used by doctors during the dynamic observation of the patient after the treatment. Regular examinations help to identify possible relapses as early as possible and take the necessary measures.
Preparation for the study
Before passing the tests, a number of measures must be followed to obtain reliable results. Each type of research may involve a certain type of preparation, but the general preanalytical stage is as follows:
- ensuring the delivery of an analysis on an empty stomach and a diet that excludes alcoholic beverages and fatty foods during the day before the collection of biomaterial. Some tests require specific dietary restrictions – consult your doctor.
- reduction of active physical activity a few days before the study;
adjustment of the medication regimen based on their pharmacological group, as well as on the basis of doctor’s recommendations and research goals.
Please note that some types of laboratory diagnostics require advanced training. For more information, consult a specialist.
