Endoscopists
An endoscopist is a doctor with higher medical education who uses a computer and special optical equipment in his research.
Endoscopy is a method of diagnosing internal organs without abdominal surgery. During the procedure, the endoscopist inserts a special tube into the internal organ, which is equipped with a lens at the end, and sends the image to the monitor. Next, the doctor examines the internal organ for changes in structure, color, certain functions or for the presence of lesions and neoplasms. The examination allows you to identify diseases of various types in the early stages and prevent their development. The procedure is also performed before surgery or other interventions to eliminate complications.
The endoscopist detects changes in the organ and makes conclusions for the attending physician. Usually, a narrow specialist is sent to consult an endoscopist, but a full-fledged examination is also possible at the request of the patient.
The list of studies conducted by an endoscopist mainly includes:
stomach examination (gastroscopy);
laryngeal examination;
bronchial examination;
intestinal examination.
In some cases, the endoscopist also performs therapeutic manipulations at the reception, such as: taking biological material (biopsies), stopping bleeding, removing small fatty cells and polyps from the walls of the internal organ.
The doctor’s appointment begins with an explanation of the research methodology and interviewing the patient for possible allergic reactions. The endoscopist performs the procedure under local anesthesia or with the help of other painkillers. After receiving the results, the endoscopist gives the video conclusion to the patient and advises or directs them to the attending physician to determine further treatment.
An appointment with a doctor should be made in advance, the procedure requires mandatory preparation. For example, before performing a gastroscopy, the patient must fast for several hours and not eat. All recommendations before endoscopy are given by the attending physician or the administrator of the center at the time of appointment.
Compliance with the recommendations allows for proper endoscopy and reliable results. The endoscopist takes responsibility for carrying out the procedure and obtaining the results. Doctors of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation are highly qualified and work on modern expert-class equipment. The work of specialists includes effective clinical recommendations to preserve your health.
