Genetics
FSBI “National Medical Research Radiological Centre” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation provides a full cycle of patient support from diagnosis to rehabilitation, including appointments and consultations of such highly specialized specialists as a geneticist. Our Center is a unique institution that implements a comprehensive approach to treatment. Progressive equipment, unique patented methods and doctors of the highest qualification provide our patients with high-quality medical support. One of the advanced divisions of the Center is the molecular genetic service. Laboratory genetics specialists perform a full cycle of genetic tests of various categories and of any complexity. You can find detailed information about the specialty of a doctor-geneticist, about the work of the molecular genetic service and various types of molecular genetic research on our website.
Genetics is a specialist who deals with the diagnosis of the genetic spectrum, as well as the development of methods of prevention and treatment. In oncology it is invaluable, because molecular genetic testing allows assessing the risks of tumor development in a healthy person due to the heredity factor, and in the case of already established diagnosis to determine the exact presence of pathology and the nature of gene mutations.
A geneticist conducts various molecular genetic tests, analyzes data on the patient’s hereditary factors and determines the degree of risk of cancer. Thanks to the results of molecular genetic testing, an individualized treatment plan is developed for patients with an established cancer diagnosis, taking into account gene mutations. In his work, the geneticist uses the latest diagnostic technologies that allow identifying the degree and nature of pathology as accurately as possible.
On the basis of the laboratories of the molecular genetic service of our Center the following types of research are carried out:
- Molecular genetic study of a panel of HRR genes by next generation sequencing (NGS);
- Metagenome sequencing;
- liquid biopsy;
- PCR testing (herpes viruses, human papillomaviruses, Epstein-Barr, etc.);
- determination of prostate cancer antigen 3 PCA3 level;
- Microplasma genitalium DNA detection;
- determination of microplasma chominis DNA;
- Ureaplasma DNA detection;
- Gardnerella vaginalis DNA detection;
- Cytomegalovirus DNA detection;
- Molecular-genetic studies of mutations in CTNNB1, TERT, FGFR3, GNAS, KIT and PDGFRA, ERBB2, HRAS, H3F3A, WT1 in Denis-Drash syndrome, WT1 in Fraser syndrome, PTPN11 in Noonan syndrome, TTR in hereditary amyloidosis;
- Analysis of mutations in BRCA1 – BRCA2 genes, CHECK2, RET;
- Analysis of the complete tumor exome;
- Genetic profiling of the tumor for selection of targeted therapy;
- Genetic profiling of the tumor for the selection of targeted therapy;
- Molecular-genetic study of individual peculiarities of human metabolism;
- Molecular-genetic study of human pharmacogenomic peculiarities;
- Advanced molecular genetic diagnostics;
- Predisposition to pathologies of the cardiovascular system (thrombosis, thromboembolism).
This is an incomplete list of FSBI “National Medical Research Radiological Centre” (NMRRC) of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. Appointment for the examination is made after consultation with a doctor of the NMRRC or as prescribed by your attending physician at your place of residence. The geneticist determines the expediency of a particular study.
A number of examinations are carried out under the compulsory medical insurance policy for Russian citizens. Prices for paid services can be found in the price list.
