Abdominal Surgical Unit

The department performs all volumes of surgical interventions on the liver for primary or metastatic lesions (anatomical and atypical liver resections, hemihepatectomies, radiofrequency thermal ablation), extrahepatic bile ducts. Operations on the pancreas are performed both in laparoscopic and open versions (distal, distal subtotal resections of the pancreas, pancrectoduodenal and gastropancreatoduodenal resections, total pancreatectomies). Removal of metastases, tumor recurrence after primary operations, symptomatic operations, pelvic exenteration, unique combined operations on several organs simultaneously are performed.

Laparoscopic and open surgery on the small and large intestine (Resection of the small intestine. Right/left-sided hemicolectomy, sigmoid colon resection, anterior/low anterior rectal resection. Abdominal-anal resection, abdominal-perineal extirpation of the rectum, total colectomy, reconstructive surgery).
Another specialization of the department — treatment of disseminated forms of intestinal cancer: removal of metastases, tumor recurrence after primary surgery, symptomatic operations aimed at eliminating complications (emerging intestinal obstruction, bleeding, pain syndrome).

The abdominal surgical department always keeps up with modern Russian and international recommendations for the treatment of cancer patients. Employees of the department take part in the All-Russian multicenter randomized trial (COLD TRIAL).
A registry of patients who have received treatment for malignant tumors of the abdominal segment organs is being maintained, various modes of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy are being studied and compared in order to identify patterns that will help work even more effectively. The staff of the department participates in the creation of an educational and methodological base for the training of oncologists throughout the country, conducts webinars for oncologists of regional oncological dispensaries and republican centers. All this means that the department is developing, improving the quality and efficiency of work so that patients can receive timely, highly qualified medical care.

The structure of the department includes 12 comfortable 1, 2 and 3 local wards for round-the-clock stay.
