Department of Innovative Interventional Radiology in Oncology
Department of Innovative Interventional Radiology at the P. Hertsen Moscow Oncology Research Institute is a Center for high-tech medicine, where doctors with world experience work, having been trained in leading oncological centers in Europe, the USA and Asia.
The team is actively implementing advanced minimally invasive techniques aimed at treatment of oncological diseases.
For the first time in Moscow, the Department is performing radioembolization of liver tumors – a unique method of local treatment demonstrating high efficiency in inoperable tumors.
The greatest experience in Russia in the use of this technology has been accumulated at the National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Ministry of Health of Russian Federation.

The initial consultation will be free by appointment through the information centers of the branches of the National Medical Research Center of Radiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, if the patient has a referral form 057/y (special document from a local oncologist).
More details can be found here. In the absence of the necessary tests, the doctor can prescribe additional examinations, which are carried out under the compulsory medical insurance at the place of residence.
The decision on hospitalization, issuing a quota for treatment by radioembolization is made by a council of doctors, which is prescribed by an oncologist at the initial appointment.
Required documents for an in-person consultation:
- passport;
- compulsory medical insurance policy;
- referral form 057/y;
- an extract from the medical history (with a description of the treatment/operations performed);
- cytological preparations (if any);
- histological preparations (glasses, paraffin blocks);
- results of the latest examinations;
- disk with MRI or CT results.
