+7 (499)110-40-67; On April 5, 2023, the contest “The History of the P.A. Herzen Moscow State Research Institute – Unknown pages” started
ONC “Association of Oncologists of Russia” with the support of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia announces the holding of an All–Russian competition for the best work on the little–known pages of the history of the oldest oncological institute in Europe – the P.A. Herzen Institute of Oncology (hereinafter referred to as the Institute).
The start of submission of works is from the date of announcement: April 5, 2023. The end date is September 1, 2023. The results of the competition will be announced at a solemn meeting dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the Institute in December 2023.
COMPETITION REGULATIONS
Introduction
The P.A. Herzen Institute of Medical Research (today a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia) is one of the oldest cancer centers in the world. Before him, in 1896, there was a Cancer hospital in New York. In 1898, at the suggestion of Professor Lev Lvovich Levshin of the Moscow Imperial University, it was decided to establish an Institute for the treatment of tumors, which later received the name of patrons of the Morozovs, and in 1947 – P.A. Herzen.
It became the first oncological institution in Europe, and this year it celebrates its 125th anniversary, to which commemorative events will be dedicated throughout the year.
In preparation for the anniversary, the organizing committee, under the leadership of Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, AOR President Andrey Kaprin, announces an open competition for the best work on the topic: “The history of the P.A. Herzen MNIOI – unknown pages”.
This should be the author’s own research about little-known discoveries or personalities who made them, patients who worked at the Institute, or other persons associated with him.
The author can be anyone who is interested and dear to the history of domestic medicine.
The best works will be published in industry oncological journals and on our information resources and will receive AOR prizes.
The jury. The competition commission includes the most authoritative employees of the NMIC of Radiology and ONS “AOR”.
Participants of the competition: without restrictions – journalists, medical workers, patients, students, teachers, historians, etc.
Deadline for submission of works: from April 5 to September 1, 2023.

Format: Text in Word or PDF, no more than 10 pages (with an interval of 1.5) together with illustrations. Links to information sources are mandatory.
