A Solemn Scientific Council in Memory of A.F. Tsyb

On January 22, at the A. Tsyb Medical Radiological Research Centre (MRRC) – the branch of the FSBI “National Medical Research Radiological Centre” (NMRRC) of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, was taken place a solemn scientific council, dedicated to the 90-th anniversary of Anatoly Fedorovich Tsyb, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of the Center (1978-2013).

The solemn meeting was traditionally preceded by a visit to the office, now a museum, where Anatoly Fedorovich worked for many years. The excursion for the honored guests, among whom were the Head of Obninsk Administration – Tatyana Leonova, the Head of Obninsk Municipal Government – Gennady Artemiev, director of the National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after academician V.I.Kulakov»
Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation – academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Sukhikh, Director of the Research Institute of Clinical and Experimental Radiology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Boris Dolgushin and other important guests, was held by the spouse of Academician Tamara Semenovna Tsyb.

Welcoming the guests of the meeting via video link, Director General of the FSBI “National Medical Research Radiological Centre” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrey Kaprin noted: “Anatoly Fedorovich always treated his specialty honestly and fundamentally, and he demanded the same from his students. He was the first of all the great scientist, and it was he who laid a solid foundation for the development of nuclear medicine at the Center. I am happy that I had the opportunity to listen to Anatoly Fedorovich’s lectures and speeches, and I am grateful to the Center’s staff for remembering and honoring the memory of our teacher.

In turn, Tatyana Leonova noted: “Hundreds of scientific papers, thousands of grateful patients, education of young personnel Anatoly Fedorovich made an outstanding contribution to the development of medical science, became an ideological inspirer and an example for many in work and in life. Today A. Tsyb MRRC is a highly professional team, advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies, Russia’s first nuclear pharmacy for the manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals. Serious base and promising directions of MRRC are an important part of Obninsk’s development as a science city”.

At the solemn meeting, a movie dedicated to the memory of the academician was shown, as well as reports of specialists on the history, advanced developments and scientific achievements of the A. Tsyb MRRC. Sergey Ivanov, Director of the A. Tsyb Medical Radiological Research Centre (MRRC), corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences told about the promising directions of the Center’s activities. The meeting was concluded by a concert program with the participation of creative groups of Kaluga region.
