Andrey Kaprin took part in the inspection of the new nuclear medicine center in Yaroslavl
– On July 15, the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Veronika Skvortsova, Governor Dmitry Mironov and the chief oncologist of the Ministry of Health of Russia Andrey Kaprin took part in the ceremony of laying the capsule at the construction site of the new surgical building of the regional oncological hospital.
– A modern oncological service is being built in the Yaroslavl region, – Veronika Skvortsova noted. – We have just looked at the new nuclear medicine center and are now laying a capsule at the construction site of a new oncological surgical building, where everything will be available, including all methods of combined resuscitation surgery, diagnostics, radiological therapy in combination with the oncological dispensary that is available today, and very powerful endoscopy.
According to the governor, we are talking about the introduction of modern methods of detecting diseases at early stages.
– Previously, patients had to travel to Moscow and St. Petersburg to conduct such diagnostic examinations. Now it can be done in Yaroslavl. I would like to emphasize that the center will receive residents not only of our region, but also of neighboring ones – Kostroma, Ivanovo and Vologda.
The center will use an effective and modern method of diagnosing oncological diseases, which combines the capabilities of positron emission and computed tomography and allows to assess the structure and functional features of the tumor at the molecular level.
According to Andrey Kaprin, the importance of various methods of diagnosis and treatment with the help of nuclear medicine will only increase over time. The development of unique technologies in cooperation with research centers and enterprises of Rosatom, Rostec and the Russian Academy of Sciences already makes it possible to talk about new horizons in oncology.
