Deputy General Director, MD, Professor Andrey Alexandrovich Kostin was elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences with a specialization in oncology. 9 candidates ran for this specialty.
Elections to the Russian Academy of Sciences were held from November 11 to 15 , 2019 . As a result, 71 academic scientists and 158 corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences were elected.
The President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev noted that the competition for the title of academician was about four people per place, corresponding member – about nine. The announcement of the election results took place on November 15, 2019.
To date, the Russian Academy of Sciences has 2,042 members, 98 of them academicians and 1,144 corresponding members.
