A team of doctors of the FSBI “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia arrived in the Khabarovsk Territory to help in the fight against coronavirus

On behalf of the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation M.A. Murashko, a team of 10 specialists from the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation was sent to the Khabarovsk Territory, which needs help in the fight against COVID-19 coronavirus infection. The first flights arrived in Khabarovsk on July 26, 2020.

According to the Director General of the FSBI “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.D. Kaprin, the Center has been providing assistance to the regions from the very beginning of the epidemic. “We held meetings, telemedicine consultations, gathered expert advice, including with international participation, in order not only to evaluate the experience in organizing care for cancer patients in new conditions, but also to develop really effective solutions to provide timely and, most importantly, full-fledged care to our patients,” A.D. Kaprin emphasized.

In March 2020, one of the phials of the N.A. Lopatkin Center for Urology and Interventional Radiology was repurposed as an infectious department to assist patients with a new coronavirus infection. Medical care was provided here by 200 specialists – a professional multidisciplinary team who worked in the foci of various diseases.   After reducing the number of new cases of COVID-19, which are registered per day in Moscow, the Research Institute of Urology began to return to routine work. Having gained invaluable experience in the most difficult months of the pandemic, infectious disease specialists, resuscitators, oncologists of the highest level, who worked, including with patients burdened with oncological and urological anamnesis, are now ready to help colleagues.

Doctors will spend about two weeks in the Khabarovsk Territory, depending on the epidemiological situation in the region.
