DOCTORS ARE NOT BORN: THE “YOUNG MEDIC” SCHOOL HAS LAUNCHED AT THE NATIONAL MEDICAL RESEARCH RADIOLOGICAL CENTRE
Put on a medical gown, peek into a real research laboratory, learn how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and discover how doctors work — and all of this before even entering medical university!
The National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Ministry of Health of Russian Federation, together with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, has launched the career‑oriented “Young Medic” school for 9th‑ and 10th‑grade students at the A. F. Tsyb Medical Radiological Research Centre.
Thirteen high school students are about to embark on an eight‑month deep dive into medicine. Every week, they will meet doctors and scientists, attend classes in laboratories and the simulation center, and get acquainted with medical specialties and modern diagnostic and treatment technologies.
The students will study the basics of anatomy and physiology, master first aid skills, and try performing resuscitation on special training simulators. But most importantly, the young aspiring specialists will get a behind‑the‑scenes look at the medical profession: they will understand how much knowledge, responsibility, and daily effort go into every medical decision.
Upon completion of the program, participants will receive certificates. Perhaps for one of these 13 students, this introduction to medicine will become the first step towards their life’s calling!
