“DON’T BE AFRAID TO DO GOOD, BECAUSE THAT IS HAPPINESS!”

New Year’s Eve is a special time! This holiday has its own extraordinary atmosphere, when everything around you seems to be enveloped in magic – and it seems that if you make a wish, it will definitely come true. Our story is also about magic, or rather – about a good wizard, who for many people became our doctor: Madina Viktorovna Bogatyreva.

She is a young oncologist at the Department of General Oncology with Chemotherapy and Medical Rehabilitation at P. Hertsen Moscow Oncology Research Institute (MORI) – the branch of the FSBI “National Medical Research Radiological Centre” (NMRRC) of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation . She is a truly sensitive and attentive doctor, who has devoted most of her professional life to helping not only patients with severe and advanced forms of cancer, but also children in difficult life situations.

Once, when we visited the doctors of the department, on Madina’s desk we saw her joint photos with children of different ages. It turned out that each of them has a difficult fate: they are orphans, children left without parental care. And Madina Viktorovna has been helping orphanages for 12 long years. Her help is very different – it is not only gifts and surprises for the children, but also attention, care, communication, warmth, which the children need so much.

Just a few days ago, Madina Viktorovna returned from Donbass, where she visited her new friends – the children of the orphanage in Luhansk.

“Being on a business trip in 2022 in Donbass, I learned about the existence of the orphanage, and since then I have been helping in any way I can! The children there are heavy, with different diseases! I admire all the staff headed by the head doctor Irina Kopeika, who puts not only all her professionalism, but also all her soul into these children! – Madina Viktorovna told us.

Two years in a row she visits these kids on New Year’s Eve. This time the kids needed multifunctional cribs, and Madina Viktorovna together with her friends were able to deliver everything they needed to the orphanage. “And then there is an amazing boarding school in Lyubertsy,” she says. – Here the staff not only deals with children at school, but also travels to their wards in families. These people help both the children and give hope to their new parents, who feel constant support and attention”.

When asked why she decided to engage in this important and difficult work, Madina Viktorovna answered: “There are no alien children! They are the ones who teach us to love not for something, but just because. You know, when children smile, you realize: there is peace, good is always near! Don’t be afraid to do good, because this is happiness!”
