An active and healthy lifestyle is not just a modern trend that oncologists encourage their patients to embrace. The team of the National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation constantly participates in various types of physical and intellectual competitions.
Team building, cycling marathons, cross-country races, cyber tournaments and many other types of competitions are practiced in free time by employees of the National Medical Research Radiological Centre, setting an example of active and healthy lifestyle to everyone.
Recently, the sister activists of the Center returned from a trip to the school of pottery art, where they were taught not only the skill of modeling, but also the psychological foundations of working in a team. Residents and young doctors of the P. Hertsen Moscow Oncology Research Institute – branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution of the National Medical Research Radiological Centre became winners in the cyber game Counter Strike, which was held for the first time within the walls of our Center.
This year’s Race of heroes took place at a training ground in Alabino, near Moscow, and for the first time it lasted two days. 4.5 thousand people took part in the extreme obstacle race, including 11 participants from the National Medical Radiology Research Centre. They had to overcome an 8.5 km course and complete 30 different types of strength and endurance tests, including an eight-meter Everest rope. Our people reached the finish line without losses.
The National Medical Radiology Research Centre also has its own football, volleyball teams, participants and winners of many industry competitions among medical organizations, and more recently, a team that competes in the format of a quiz of experts and has already become a repeated winner in the medical quiz.
With great enthusiasm, our colleagues supported the initiative of the Russian Chess Federation and the Russian Association of Oncologists “Chess against Cancer”. Now the Center will open its own chess section.
The introduction of modern thinking and behavior in society, based on traditional values, strengthening physical and moral health, and a responsible attitude towards health is also a form of prevention of a wide variety of diseases, and doctors, nurses, scientists and engineering staff of the Center are trying to keep up with the times.
Participation in a charity regatta among medical institutions is ahead and it will take place at the end of July in Moscow.
