AT THE CROSSROADS OF DISCIPLINES AND BEYOND BORDERS
Reproductive specialists and oncologists at the session within the IX Forum of Oncology and Radiotherapy «For Life» discussed how to preserve fertility after antitumor treatment and the role of preventing infectious diseases of the genitourinary system.
This year, the international component of the Forum is significantly represented. Experts from Belarus, Japan, Malaysia, the People’s Republic of China, Brazil, India, and Turkey will share their experience and research results.
A major part of the program was dedicated to drug therapy. For the first time, in the “Consensus” format, experts reviewed chemotherapy for resectable liver metastases in colorectal cancer. The specialists addressed the most challenging aspects — choosing an individual treatment strategy for patients, taking into account their condition and the specifics of using antitumor drugs.
During the official opening of «For Life», Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko and Chief Oncologist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation – Andrey Kaprin answered journalists’ questions. Mikhail Murashko highlighted two key areas of modern oncology — prevention and high‑tech diagnostics, the development of which is embedded in the new national projects.
Andrey Kaprin noted another important resource: today, Russia has a high potential for developing and applying its own antitumor and radiopharmaceutical drugs.
