“I DREAM TO BECOME A DOCTOR!” SPECIALISTS FROM THE NATIONAL MEDICAL RESEARCH RADIOLOGICAL CENTRE SPENT A DAY WITH OBNINSK SCHOOLCHILDREN
Last week, the staff of the A. Tsyb Medical Radiological Research Centre (MRRC) – the branch of the FSBI “National Medical Research Radiological Centre” (NMRRC) of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, hosted pupils from the Obninsk Free School. The center was visited by 10th and 11th grade students who dream of becoming doctors.
During the excursion the children saw the most interesting developments of the Center live and talked to doctors about their profession. The students were especially impressed by the new Oncopathology building, where materials for cytologic and histologic examinations are delivered by pneumatic mail. A separate location in the renovated space is occupied by a training room, where the most modern equipment is located.
At the meeting with doctors, future graduates were asked whether it is difficult to work as a doctor? What time does the working day usually end? Is it hard to work with cancer patients?
Andrey Karpin, General Director of the National Medical Research Radiological Centre, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, always pays special attention to interaction with young people: “They are the future of our country, some of these guys will be treating us and our loved ones in a few years. We must provide them with all opportunities for quality and interesting training to bring them up as versatile, talented and empathetic specialists”.
The pupils had a great day with the Center’s staff. We hope that such career guidance days will help them to strengthen their desire to become doctors and, in the future, – excellent specialists!
