The best oncologists showed a class in Tambov

A team of professionals from the NMRRC of the Ministry of Health of Russia worked at the Interregional scientific and Practical conference “Topical issues of modern surgery”, which was recently held at the Tambov Regional Clinical Hospital named after V.D. Babenko.

The conference was opened by Alexey Ovchinnikov, Minister of Health of the Tambov Region and Tatiana Bukatina, Chief Physician of the TOKB named after V.D. Babenko.

The event was attended by representatives of the NMRRC of the Ministry of Health of Russia, the N.I. Pirogov RNIMU, the N.N. Blokhin NMRRC of Oncology, the Russian Society of Endoscopic Surgeons, the Northern State Medical University, the Arkhangelsk Clinical Oncology Dispensary, doctors of medical institutions in the region.

During the conference, direct inclusions were organized for the participants in the operating rooms, where master classes of “live surgery” were held. Thoracic surgery for minimally invasive intervention in the first stage of lung cancer was performed by Professor Andrey Ryabov, Deputy Director General of the NMRRC of the Ministry of Health of Russia for Surgery. Oleg Pikin, MD, Head of the Thoracic Surgical Department of the P. Hertsen Moscow Oncology Research Institute, a branch of the NMIC Radiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, commented on thorascopic lobectomy with mediastinal lymphadenectomy in the audience.

The master class on laparoscopic adrenalectomy of the adrenal glands was shown by Professor Nikolay Matveev, Head of the Department of Experimental and Clinical Surgery of the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, Chairman of the Education Committee of the Russian Society of Endoscopic Surgeons. Specialists also discussed modern methods of diagnosis and treatment for acute pancreatitis, problems of hernia surgery, colorectal and endovideosurgery.

As the co-chairman of the conference Amir Yagofirov, Deputy chief physician for surgical work of the V.D. Babenko TOKB noted, Tambov doctors are familiar with almost all types of modern surgery, but professionals are always interested in the details and best practices of their application, which were demonstrated by colleagues from the capital.
