NMRRC OPENED ITS DOORS FOR DELEGATES OF THE NATIONAL HEALTHCARE CONGRESS 2023
On the 30th of November, in anticipation of the opening of the second National Congress with international participation of «National Healthcare 2023», participants of the congress, even from the regions of our homeland, visited P. Hertsen MORI – branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution of the «National Medical Research Radiological Centre» of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
And especially for them, a tour of the most advanced departments and laboratories took place in one of the oldest oncological institutions in Europe and the world, which celebrates the 125th anniversary of its founding this year.
Guests, including representatives of territorial healthcare authorities and leading medical institutions in the country, were able to get acquainted with the work and history of P. Hertsen Moscow Oncology Research Institute, as well as to see the latest equipment and to learn about the best practices.
The Specialists of the Institute demonstrated the work and the equipment of the emergency department and the operating unit, the high-dose therapy department with a bone marrow transplant unit, radionuclide and radiation therapy and the Russian-Japanese Center «Endoonko».
In addition, presentations and meetings with leading experts from the P. Hertsen Moscow Oncology Research Institute were prepared for the guests of the tour. Experts spoke about the unique technologies for diagnosing and treating common types of cancer used here. They discussed molecular genetic diagnostics, HIFU-therapy for the treatment of pancreatic tumors, PIPEC-therapy for carcinomatosis in the case of widespread ovarian and gastric cancer, also they talked about modern possibilities for radionuclide diagnosis and treatment of malignant neoplasms.

“The program is very interesting and intensive. A tour of the leading departments of the Center turned into a wonderful acquaintance with advanced and world oncology. We saw modern organization of outpatient care, learned about the CyberKnife device and PET-CT. The emergency department and the operating ones are equipped with advanced devices and staffed with wonderful specialists.”
