NMIC of Radiology signed an agreement with the Austrian Biobank Graz
On June 20-23, 2019, the Fifth International Forum “White Nights” was held in St. Petersburg, which brings together a wide range of specialists in the field of oncology from Russia, near and far abroad. On the sidelines of the forum, Academician Andrey KAPRIN, Director General of the NMIC of Radiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, signed an agreement on scientific cooperation with the Medical University of Graz (Biobank Graz).On the Austrian side, the agreement was signed by the director of Biobank Karine SARGSYAN.
This is the first document of its kind signed by the Federal Medical research Center of the Russian Federation with the European leader in the field of storage and study of biomaterials.
In accordance with the document, academic and scientific exchange will be established between the countries to conduct research, transfer know-how technologies, develop research infrastructure, and train personnel for biobank at all levels, including technical specialists, doctoral students, postgraduates, and researchers.
The National Medical Research Center for Radiology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation will participate in the collection and acquisition of Biobank samples, as well as in epidemiological and laboratory studies of data collected by Biobank Graz.
Cooperation with Austrian scientists will contribute to solving the problem of organizing a modern oncological biobank in Russia on the basis of NMIC radiology.
The Medical University of Graz (Biobank Graz) is ready to provide a high level of knowledge and training opportunities to make this work effective.
