The updated Hemodialysis center of the N.A. Lopatkin Research Institute of Urology and Interventional Radiology is ready to receive patients
On December 10, 2019, the grand opening of the modernized hemodialysis center on the basis of the N.A. Lopatkin Research Institute of Urology and Interventional Radiology, a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia, took place. As a result of the reconstruction, the renovated center fully meets modern European requirements. Patients suffering from kidney failure will be able to receive high-tech care here, which allows to improve the quality and prolong their life for 15-25 years.
The ceremony was attended by Andrey Kaprin – Chief freelance Oncologist of the Ministry of Health of Russia, General Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Oleg Apolikhin – Chief Specialist in Reproductive Health of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Director of the Research Institute of Urology and Interventional Radiology named after N.A. Lopatkin – branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Oleg Kotenko – Chief Freelance specialist nephrologist of the Moscow Department of Health, Deputy Chief Physician for Nephrology of GBUZ “GKB No. 52 DZM”.
– The center is equipped with devices and equipment created on the basis of modern developments and extensive experience of manufacturing companies, which makes it one of the best not only in Russia, but also in Europe. Patients will be able to undergo hemodialysis in the most comfortable conditions, – said A.D. Kaprin.
The hemodialysis center has 20 “artificial kidney” devices of the latest generation with a built-in patient safety and protection program. A new water treatment system has been installed, equipped to the highest standards. All internal rooms and halls have been renovated to assist patients in the renovated center.
According to O.I. Apolikhin, the center has a number of indisputable advantages.
– First of all, oncological patients who need hemodialysis can receive treatment here. Since he works on the basis of the Research Institute of Urology, our patients will be able to receive advisory assistance from all specialists of the institute. This also allows us to provide examination and transfer of patients for kidney transplantation,” Apolikhin stressed.
The hemodialysis center is designed for 20 beds, and can serve patients around the clock 6 days a week. And this is more than 200 patients, and 2,000 procedures per month.
O.N. Kotenko highly appreciated the modernization of the hemodialysis center and noted the importance of its work, including for cancer patients. – Previously, we practically did not deal with the problem of helping oncological patients with renal insufficiency and such patients were doomed. The accumulated experience of joint work of nephrologists, urologists and oncologists of this center allows us to cope with the most serious diseases and prolong the life of our patients,” Mr. Kotenko emphasized.
