MORE THAN 300 EMPLOYEES OF THE LARGEST ENTERPRISES OF THE ULYANOVSK REGION WERE TESTED FOR CANCER
The All-Russian informational and educational project “Oncopatrol” continues its active work in the Ulyanovsk region. Today on the basis of the two largest enterprises of the country Patron Plant and Aviastar Aircraft Building Plant a team of specialists from the National Medical Center of Radiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia together with specialists from the Regional Clinical Oncologic Dispensary and Central Clinical Hospital of Ulyanovsk held consultative and diagnostic appointments. For the first time not only employees of the enterprises, but also their family members could undergo examinations within the framework of the project. The campaign, among other things, is timed to coincide with the Year of the Family and is aimed at early detection of cancer diseases.
It should be reminded that the arrival of specialists from the federal center was preceded by a lot of work of doctors of the Ulyanovsk region, who conducted preliminary diagnostic examinations of more than 3000 people. All participants underwent a special questionnaire aimed at identifying risk factors for malignant neoplasms. After analyzing the obtained data and identifying the risk group, the plant workers were invited for special examinations aimed at early detection of oncopathologies and other non-communicable diseases. In addition, employees of the Patron Plant were offered free anonymous HIV testing, which was used by more than 100 people. The test was conducted by the mobile laboratory of the AIDS Center with subsequent counseling on the territory of the plant.
Today more than 320 people were able to receive oncology consultations. According to the results of the first day, more than 50 suspected malignant neoplasms were identified. All patients will be sent to the Ulyanovsk oncodispensary for additional examination. The work at the enterprises continues.
