“ONCOPATRUL” ARRIVED IN THE KALUGA REGION
This year’s first All-Russian info-educational project “Oncopatrul” started in the Kaluga region on February 26, 2024. This time, the participants in the project were employees of the Instrument Plant «Signal», a leading enterprise producing military radiation and chemical reconnaissance instruments. More than 300 people underwent preliminary studies aimed at early detection of cancer, including a PSA blood test, CT scan of the lungs, mammography, ultrasound diagnostics of the thyroid and breast glands, as well as an analysis of intestinal contents for occult blood. Now they face the second stage, a consultation with oncologist specialists from the National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, who will work at the enterprise throughout the coming week. The Oncopatrul events will last until March 14, 2024.
During the project, a Multidisciplinary scientific and practical conference for primary care doctors, nurses and oncologists will be held for the eighth time. The program plans a whole series of seminars aimed at developing cancer alertness and early detection of malignant neoplasms. Specialists from various fields are invited to participate: obstetricians-gynecologists, gastroenterologists, ultrasound diagnostic doctors, dermatologists, mammologists, therapists and others. Here they will talk not only about the features of preventive and dispensary observation, but also about the modern possibilities of telemedicine consultations. Traditionally, nurses will have a practical master class on caring for ostomy patients.
“Oncopatrul” pays special attention to the issue of improving cancer care and improving the quality of medical care in the region. To this end, the Legislative Assembly of the Kaluga Region will host a civil dialogue with the population on people’s responsible attitude towards their health. The event will take place with the participation of representatives of the regional Ministry of Health, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the region, the leadership of the National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and public organizations.
The results of the project will be summed up on March 14, 2024 at the Innovation Cultural Center. The solemn event will be held with the participation of the Head of the Kaluga Region V.V. Shapsha, chief oncologist of the Russian Ministry of Health, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.D. Kaprin, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the region, a delegation of doctors from the National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and residents of the city.
