“Oncopatrul” started in Kamchatka since the opening of the VI multidisciplinary conference
The all-Russian information and educational project “Oncopatrul” began its work in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky since the opening of the VI multidisciplinary conference on the formation of cancer alertness and early detection of malignant neoplasms for primary care physicians and nurses.
The participants and guests of the event were greeted by the Minister of Health of the Kamchatka Territory, Alexander Gashkov.
⁃ This is the first time such an event is being held in the Kamchatka Territory. It was preceded by a huge amount of work – about six thousand people were examined. Of these, at least three thousand underwent various medical studies. As part of the preparatory activities, a certain number of patients who required medical assistance were identified. The most important segment for our population is education about cancer awareness. Currently, the number of detections of cancer is growing, and at the same time we have all the technologies to treat and restore health, and most importantly, save lives,” noted Alexander Gashkov.
More than 400 specialists of various profiles took part in the conference – therapists, endoscopists, gynecologists, urologists, gastroenterologists, nurses from medical institutions of the region. They were present in person and connected to the online broadcast. Each of them found here an important topic for themselves, united by one goal – increasing oncological alertness and correct routing of the patient, if even the slightest suspicion of a malignant neoplasm is detected.
️The range of events includes about 20 formats – reception of the population, seminars and lectures for doctors and patients, training master classes and demonstration operations “live surgery” and much more. The Oncopatrul program plans to visit four labor collectives in the capital and regions. These are employees of the Milk Plant Petropavlovsk and the Fishing Collective Farm named after V.I. Lenin, Petropavlovsk Bakery and State Farm Zarechinsky. In total, more than 600 people will be tested for early cancer detection.
Let us remind you that the Oncopatrul project is being carried out in the region on the initiative of Vice Speaker of the State Duma Irina Yarovaya. Alexander Gashkov thanked the parliamentarian for organizing the project in the region.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to Irina Anatolyevna Yarova, the person who initiated the process, resolved a lot of organizational issues and thanks to whom this event took place,” the minister added.
“Oncopatrul” will continue to work in Kamchatka until October 20. During the week, specialists will work not only in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, but also in Vilyuchinsk, Elizovo, and also in the Ust-Bolsheretsky region.
