Oncopatrul in Perm passed the baton to Ryazan
Perm Krai has become the tenth region of the Russian Federation where, after a long break caused by the pandemic due to coronavirus, Oncopatrul has started working again.
The Perm Scientific and Production Instrument-making Company became the venue of the All-Russian action “Oncopatrul”. This company was not chosen by chance, since the Company has its own modern polyclinic implementing the “Health” program, whose task is to take care of the health of the company’s employees. Medical prevention and systematic conduct of dispensary examinations of the company’s employees allowed for the arrival of leading Russian specialists to compile a list of those who have predispositions and chronic diseases.
Director of Photonics Cluster Polyclinic LLC Angelika Antipova, summing up the results of the three-day work of Oncopatrul, especially emphasized that a team of 10 highly qualified specialists of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia, whose sedi candidate and three doctors of medical Sciences together with specialists of the Perm Regional Oncological Center” conducted a full screening of oncological diseases in such localities as cancer breast, prostate, thyroid, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, according to the indications and complaints of employees, ultrasound diagnostics of the abdominal cavity was performed, women underwent a PAP test study to detect cervical cancer.
Olga Trushina, senior researcher at the Oncologists of the Hertsen Institute, a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia, MD, oncologist and gynecologist, noted that factory workers have a very high motivation to undergo a dispensary examination. “I am pleasantly surprised that there is no need to agitate anyone to be examined by a gynecologist. The women of this enterprise themselves actively take care of their health.” According to the doctor, the pap test is the gold standard for detecting cervical cancer, and urged women to be especially attentive to their health and pay attention to symptoms such as “pain, discharge of all kinds, general weakness and fatigue.
A total of 200 people were examined by oncologists. Maxim Mezentsev, the chief physician of the Perm Regional Oncological Center, Ph.D., thoracic surgeon-oncologist, presented a complete analysis of the results of the studies conducted by employees of PJSC Perm Scientific and Production Instrument-Making Company. According to his data, 2 malignant neoplasms of the thyroid gland were detected during the Oncopatrol examinations and 30 people with suspected cancer were identified. All these patients were referred for further pre-examination and treatment at the regional oncological center. Among them – 11 people were referred to a gynecologist-oncologist, 5 people – to a mammologist, 10 people – to a urologist-oncologist (4 with suspected kidney tumors, 6 prostate), 4 people – to an ENT oncologist, 18 patients were diagnosed with precancerous diseases. These patients are referred to the doctors of the polyclinic at the place of attachment for the treatment of identified diseases.
The final chord of the All-Russian project was the solemn educational action “Oncopatrul” at the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater named after P.I. Tchaikovsky.
The greeting to the participants of the action on behalf of the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Galina Karelova was announced by the Senator of the Russian Federation Irina Petina. Speaking on the stage of the famous theater, she, in turn, took the baton of the “Oncopatula” for its holding in the Ryazan region in October 2020.
Director of the MRSC named after A.F. Tsyba – branch of the FSBI “NMIC of Radiology”, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Ivanov, on behalf of the “Center of Radiology”, highly appreciated the leadership of the Perm Region in matters of health care and cancer prevention. He presented letters of thanks to primary care doctors Mikhail Kivelev, Olga Larina, Natalia Pogrebelnaya, Evgenia Pechorina and Dmitry Shlyakov for showing onco-alertness and the development of onco-service in the region.
Theater artists joined the information and educational campaign aimed at the formation of a healthy lifestyle, onco-education and the formation of onco-alertness. They performed world music hits by Gioacchino Antonio Rossini, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Georgy Vasilyevich Sviridov and Giacomo Antonio Puccini. The musicians and artists of the theater supported the “Oncopatrul”, giving the audience an unforgettable performance.
