The results of the “ONCOPATRUL” campaign in Voronezh have been summed up

The All-Russian action “Oncopatrul” has completed its work in Voronezh. Within two days, on October 22 and 23, 2019, specialists of the country’s leading cancer center – FSBI “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia – examined more than 200 employees of the largest city-forming enterprise of the city, CJSC Voronezhstalmost. As a result of the work, 63 people were sent for an additional extended medical examination, including those with suspected malignant tumors.

Voronezh became the fifth region participating in the Oncopatrul campaign for the early diagnosis of malignant tumors. For diagnostics, first of all, workers of harmful productions of the plant were invited, as well as those with a history of chronic diseases or health complaints. The Oncopatrul program provides preventive examinations by a gynecologist, a mammologist-dermatologist, a urologist, thoracic and abdominal surgeons, as well as mammography, ultrasound of the thyroid gland, abdominal organs and pelvis, a blood test for PSA for men, a test for latent blood to detect colorectal cancer.

The inspection of the company’s employees was carried out by a team of doctors from the branches of the FSBI “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia and the Voronezh Clinical Regional Oncological Dispensary.

Urologists Maxim Grebenkin and Rasul Maksudov, as well as gynecologist Anna Kokolishvili, received patients from the N.A. Lopatkin Research Institute of Urology and Interventional Radiology, a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia. Another gynecologist, Ph.D. Dmitry Kashlinsky, represented the A.F. Tsyba MRSC, a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia. His colleague, ultrasound doctor Anna Veselova performed thyroid diagnostics. Specialists of the P.A. Herzen Institute of Medical Research – branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia were: mammologists-dermatologists – Ph.D. Ekaterina Nikitina and Maria Vlasova, thoracic oncological surgeon, MD Konstantin Kolbanov, abdominal oncological surgeon Ruslan Moshurov.

According to tradition, “Oncopatur” ended with a solemn information and educational campaign aimed at forming a healthy lifestyle, and what is very important, cancer awareness among citizens of the Russian Federation. More than 1,000 Voronezh residents took part in it, as well as Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Galina KARELOVA, Governor of the Voronezh Region Alexander GUSEV, Chairman of the Voronezh Regional Duma Vladimir NETESOV, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy Igor KAGRAMANYAN, Chief Freelance Oncologist of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrey KAPRIN, Head of the Voronezh Region Health Department Alexander SHCHUKIN, Chief Freelance Oncologist of the Voronezh Region Health Department – Chairman of the Health Protection Committee of the Voronezh Regional Duma Ivan MOSHUROV, Chairman of the All-Russian Association of Cancer Patients “Hello” Irina BOROVOVA, specialists who conducted examinations and the best creative teams of the Voronezh land rich in talents.

In the format of a direct dialogue with the audience, doctors talked about the dangers of bad habits, enlightened citizens on the norms and standards of screening programs approved by the Ministry of Health of Russia. In particular, Andrey Kaprin, as the chief oncologist of the Ministry of Health of Russia, said that Russia is the only country in the world that has introduced 7 types of screening programs that can detect thyroid cancer, lung cancer, cervical cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer in men and stomach cancer at an early stage. Lectures of doctors were alternated by performances of professional creative collectives of the Voronezh region, in particular, the Symphony Orchestra of the Voronezh Concert Hall under the direction of Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Androsov. The artists of the Voronezh State Opera and Ballet Theater presented a pre-premiere screening of the snowflake dance from Tchaikovsky’s ballet “The Nutcracker”, a ballet dance to music from the movie “The Smell of a Woman” was created especially for the Oncopatrul campaign, which was performed by dancers from Brazil Larisa Dalsento and Luis Fernando Xavier. Professional children’s and youth choirs performed musical compositions by V. Gavrilin “Mama” and G. Alares – “Million voices”. A feature of the performances of creative teams was their appeal and appeal to the audience to take care of their health, give up bad habits, visit doctors in a timely manner and participate in the annual medical examination.

Another distinctive feature of the campaign was the passing of the baton of the Oncopatrul campaign. The chief freelance oncologist of the Voronezh Department of Health Ivan Moshurov handed over this baton to the chief freelance oncologist of the Kursk Department of Health Leonid Kiselev.

The action did not leave a single spectator indifferent, as many Voronezh residents admitted when leaving the concert hall.

The next action “Oncopatrul” will be held in Kursk in November 2019.
