THE ALL-RUSSIAN INFORMATION AND AWARENESS PROJECT “ONCOPATROL” WILL BE HELD IN THE ULYANOVSK REGION FOR THE SECOND TIME
The project events will be held in the region from May 27 to 31. The Oncopatrol delegation will be headed by Andrey Kaprin, Chief Oncologist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Recall: the project “Oncopatrol” is realized in Russia since 2019 on the initiative of the NMRRC of the Ministry of Health of the Russia Federation and with the support of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, the Association of oncologists of Russia and the patient movement “Hello!”. For the first time this grandiose, socially significant project was realized in the region with the support of the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Alexey Russkikh back in March 2023 and caused a great response both among the population and the medical community. That is why the head of the region again addressed Andrei Kaprin with a repeated initiative.
“Fighting cancer is one of the most important tasks of the national project ‘Healthcare’ initiated by the President of Russia. In 2023, 23 leading specialists from the National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation visited the region and examined more than 200 employees of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, and 26 people were diagnosed with suspected malignant neoplasms. In addition, surgical master classes and educational events were organized for doctors and city residents. This year colleagues of the federal center together with Ulyanovsk oncologists will conduct screening of workers at Ulyanovsk Cartridge Plant and Aviastar”, noted Yury Kelin, Acting Minister of Health of the Ulyanovsk region.
On May 28, the X Multidisciplinary Scientific and Practical Conference of the project “Oncopatrol” for primary care physicians and nurses will be held at Ulyanovsk State University, the regional children’s clinical hospital named after Y.F. Goryachev and on the basis of the regional oncodispensary. For the first time in the region will be presented a pilot project on early detection of pancreatic cancer. The lectures are also devoted to early detection of tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, female reproductive and urinary systems, tumors of intrathoracic localization and tumors of the oral cavity. Nurses are invited to a practical seminar on the care of stoma patients. At the same time, an educational seminar “7 checks against cancer” aimed at careful attitude to the health of the whole family will be held for students of Ulyanovsk State University for the first time.
On May 29 and 30, a large team of doctors consisting of oncomammologists, oncogynecologists, oncourologists, thoracic and abdominal oncologists, and ultrasound doctors will work at the enterprises. They will check the health not only of the employees of the two leading enterprises of the region, but also of their families. The initiative is timed to the Year of the Family, announced by the President of the country V.V. Putin in 2024. Putin in 2024. Also, educational seminars on the importance of early cancer diagnosis will be held for labor collectives.
On May 30, the Oncopatrol Alley will be solemnly laid on the territory of the Ulyanovsk Regional Oncological Dispensary. Planting of new trees is a good tradition of the project, which has already visited 27 regions of the country.
On May 31 in the Legislative Assembly of the Ulyanovsk region with the participation of the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region A.Yu. Russkikh, chief oncologist of the Ministry of Health of Russia A.D. Kaprin, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Ulyanovsk region of the seventh convocation V.V. Malyshev, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Ulyanovsk region. The results of the project will be summed up on May 31 in the Ulyanovsk Drama Theater named after I.A. Goncharov at a gala event.
