CONGRATULATIONS ON THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE NURSE

Every year the whole world celebrates May 12 as the international day of the nurse.

Nurses and brothers are people without whom it is impossible to imagine medical activity: they stand in the operating rooms on a par with surgeons, nurse patients and do everything to make the treatment process as easy and calm as possible.

On this important day, the Director General of the NMIC of Radiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrey Kaprin noted: “A variety of patients come to our Center, many of them require not only high-tech surgical intervention, but also very careful care, they literally need to be nursed. Our nurses are girls and women who live with incredible love for their work and have the strongest fortitude. During the treatment, they become best friends, allies who are ready to help at any moment. In no case should we forget that there are also many medical brothers working within the walls of our Center.”

On this occasion, the NMIC of Radiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia held a solemn presentation of certificates of honor to the teams of nurses of three branches. In total, more than 950 nurses and nurses work within the walls of the Center.

Today we talked to one of them – Elena Volicheva works in the Department of X–ray surgical methods of diagnosis and treatment of the MRSC named after A.F. Tsyba – a branch of the NMIC of Radiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia. The department deals with minimally invasive technologies, all manipulations are performed through incisions on vessels, veins or arteries, and with the help of catheters and microcatheters, the active substance is delivered directly to the focus: this includes stenting (in case of myocardial infarction), and vasoconstriction during bleeding (embolization of blood vessels), and bringing chemo or radiopreparations to the affected area.

Since childhood, I have wanted to help people and now I understand that I am on the right path. It is very nice to hear from patients that I am in my place. This feeling, when you see that you are needed and useful, when after your actions a person really gets better, inspires you very much to do even more. You find a common language and a special approach with every person who is undergoing treatment in our department. You tenderly empathize with each story and fight together with the patient and doctors against a terrible disease – oncology. Then, to be honest, for me there is nothing more joyful than recovered happy patients with burning eyes when they come for check-ups, – admits Elena Alekseevna.

A nurse is an important link in the general treatment process, without her, as without any other member of the team, it is simply impossible to imagine the activities of a medical institution. Her main task is to take care of the patient and take care of him properly.
