Russian President Vladimir Putin celebrates the XII Congress of Oncologists of Russia
Last weekend, the XII Congress of Oncologists of Russia, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Nikolaevich Trapeznikov, completed its work in Samara. At the event organized by the Association of Oncologists of Russia, the results of the four-year period of the Association’s work were summed up, and the composition of its management for the next four years was approved.
The importance of the Congress was noted by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who sent his welcome address to the participants: “Your traditional forums are always a big, significant event in the life of the country’s medical community. They allow us to discuss current professional problems at a high expert level, exchange accumulated experience and best practices, and propose new approaches to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of dangerous ailments,” the document says.
In addition, the Chairman of the Government of Russia Mikhail Mishustin, the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko and the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko sent greetings to the participants. According to Mikhail Albertovich, the community of oncologists is a very rapidly developing and dynamic part of the medical community. He also summed up the preliminary results of the implementation of the federal project “Fight against oncological diseases”, which ensures the availability and quality of medical care to patients.
The Congress was opened by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Samara Region Alexander Fetisov, Chairman of the Samara Provincial Duma Gennady Kotelnikov, Minister of Health of the region Armen Benyan, President of the Association of Oncologists of Russia Andrey Kaprin.
The President of the Association of Oncologists of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrey Kaprin and Hero of Labor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Porkhanov were awarded with commemorative signs “For Service to people” and letters of thanks from the Governor of the Samara region.
More than 4,000 thousand delegates from all over the country had the opportunity to share scientific achievements in person, to communicate live on the sidelines. Exchange experiences. At the Congress, key aspects of the organization of oncological services, drug provision and palliative care were announced. It was not without demonstration operations, which were demonstrated during the section “live surgery” both in person and in online format. They were presented by such masters of domestic surgery as the chief physician of the Research Institute of Regional Clinical Hospital No. 1, Professor S.V. Ochapovsky, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Porkhanov, Deputy Director General for Surgery of the NMRRC of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Professor Andrey Ryabov. Also, for the first time, a patient session was held at the Congress with the participation of the heads of the largest public organizations in Russia uniting oncopatients: the Movement against Cancer and Hello MOD. The competition of young oncologists was successfully held, the section “Nurses” and “Innovations in Oncology” worked under the chairmanship of the International Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, MD, Professor of the University of Graz (Austria) Rainer Rienmuller.
Also on the sidelines of the Congress, the NMRRC TV studio worked all days, broadcasting live interviews with prominent scientists, health care organizers, leading oncologists of our country – delegates of the Congress.
Of course, an exciting and responsible point of the Congress program was the reporting and election meeting of the members of the Association of Oncologists of Russia, where the results of the Association’s work for 4 years were summed up, and the elections of the Association’s management were held. By a majority of votes, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chief Oncologist of the Ministry of Health of Russia Andrey Kaprin was re-elected President of the Association for a term until 2027.
The event was held with the support of the Ministry of Health of Russia and the direct participation of the ONC “Association of Oncologists of Russia”, the Association of Oncological Institutions of the Volga Federal District, NMRRC of the Ministry of Health of Russia, the Samara Regional Clinical Oncology Dispensary, Samara State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia and the Kazan State Medical Academy.
