X-ray surgery as an innovative method of diagnosis and treatment
Dear friends!
You’ve probably heard about X-ray surgical methods of diagnosis and treatment, but have you ever thought about what a multifaceted field of medicine this is? Today, together with the doctor of the Department of X–ray surgical methods of diagnosis and treatment of the A.F. Tsyba MRSC – a branch of the NMIC Radiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Fedor Trifonov, we will talk about what is the essence of this method, and what problems patients can contact us at the Center.
-In order to understand what our job is, we need to imagine that human vessels are plumbing. The same problems that happen to the water supply in everyday life – blockages or leaks can occur in the human body: vessels become clogged or bleeding occurs, – says Fyodor Alexandrovich. We often encounter problems of a cardiovascular nature in our cancer patients. Without solving them, it is dangerous and sometimes impossible to start specific treatment. We also help those who suffer from cardiovascular diseases, but do not have a history of cancer. Our specialists often work in a team with oncosurgeons when they have a large operation and the probability of bleeding is extremely high. The tumor is usually very well supplied with blood, so before it is removed, it is necessary to block the access of blood to it.
X–ray surgery is, first of all, minimally invasive technologies. All manipulations are performed through low-traumatic accesses (mini-incisions or vascular punctures), and with the help of catheters and microcatheters, the active substance is delivered directly to the focus: this includes stenting (in case of myocardial infarction), and vasoconstriction during bleeding (embolization of blood vessels), and bringing chemo or radiopreparations to the affected area. Throughout the entire intervention, the patient is conscious, but does not feel pain and can be discharged from the department the very next day.
-The undeniable advantage of chemo- and radioembolization is bringing the drug directly to the tumor, due to this, the maximum effect is achieved. However, it is important to understand that in the presence of distant metastases, in order to achieve better results, this method must be combined with chemotherapeutic treatment.
A wide range of X-ray surgical care is performed at the A.F. Tsyba MRSC:
•Chemoembolization
•Radioembolization
•Embolization
•Coronarography
•Stenting
In order to get an appointment with a specialist of the department, it is necessary to make an appointment at the polyclinic of the MRSC named after A.F. Tsyba by phone of the contact center:
+7(800)250-87-00, +7 (800) 250 87 00.
You can also get a telemedicine consultation “doctor-doctor” through a healthcare institution in your region.
