Schoolchildren on an excursion to the NMRRC

Within the framework of the joint project with the Russian Academy of Education “About Oncology-just”, an excursion was held for students of the 10th medical class at the P. Hertsen Moscow Oncology Research Institute – a branch of the FSBI “NMRRC”.

The children got acquainted with the work of the vivarium, learned about the principles of bioethics and about the peculiarities of keeping laboratory animals.

We visited the Department of Translational Oncology, where we listened to a lecture on molecular genetic research methods in oncology by Ph.D. Shatalov P.A., a lecture on the principles of the PCR method by Ph.D. Raigorodskaya M.P., and independently performed an analysis of frequent mutations in BRCA1/2 genes by PCR.
