THE A. TSYB MRRC HAS COMMISSIONED ITS OWN PET/CT COMPLEX
The A. Tsyb Medical Radiological Research Centre (a branch of the National Medical Research Radiological Centre of Ministry of Health of Russian Federation) has expanded its diagnostic capabilities: a modern in‑house PET/CT scanner is now operational at the Centre. The new unit will enable highly accurate diagnosis of oncological diseases directly at the branch, reduce patient examination times, and improve the speed of clinical decision‑making.
This scanner is equipped with a fully digital GE HealthCare system and has a 32 cm field of view, ensuring high sensitivity and excellent visualization of even small pathological lesions. The use of digital detectors speeds up the examination process while maintaining high image quality. The advanced technologies implemented in this unit allow detection of minimal metabolic changes, which is particularly important for diagnosing cancer and assessing treatment effectiveness over time.
Currently, the department performs PET studies using 18F‑FDG (fluorodeoxyglucose), the most widely used radiopharmaceutical agent in global practice — it accounts for approximately 90 % of all PET examinations. This ensures highly informative results for a wide range of oncological conditions.
PET/CT examinations at the A. Tsyb MRRC are available under the compulsory medical insurance (OMS) scheme with a referral on form 057/u, as well as on a paid basis. Appointments can be made by calling to the contact center: +7 (800) 250‑87‑00.
