The II Assembly “Teacher and Time” is completing its work at the Russian Academy of Education
The II Assembly “Teacher and Time” is held within the framework of events dedicated to the Year of the Teacher and Mentor in the Russian Federation, the 80th anniversary of the Academy and the 200th anniversary of the birth of the founder of Russian scientific pedagogy K.D. Ushinsky. More than 500 full-time delegates and more than 15 thousand online listeners take part in it.
“The role of a teacher in our time is greater than ever,” said Olga, President of the Russian Academy of Education, Academician of RAO Vasilyeva, opening the plenary session of the Assembly. – The modern Russian teacher faces the tasks of spiritual and moral education of future generations. Today, I think it is quite appropriate to paraphrase the poet’s famous words: a teacher in Russia is more than a teacher. The system of our Russian education has withstood, withstood the Western “firmware” of the 90s, when the Bologna model of the formation of a new person was imposed on us, and the pandemic with its rigid barriers, teaching by correspondence, so unusual for our pedagogical tradition. We’ve been through it all. We have achieved by law that our profession has ceased to be an educational service, we are returning to our roots. Knowledge cannot be without education. After all, a teacher is not only a source of knowledge, he is the guardian of our culture and moral values.”
Representatives of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, leading scientists, members of subject associations of teachers and educators, and major Russian universities took part in the Assembly. The Assembly also received greetings from Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Yevgeny Primakov, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, and Andrei Fursenko, Secretary of the Council for Science and Education under the President of the Russian Federation.
On April 20, the program of the Assembly included a Partner Day, during which the most successful experience of cooperation between well-known research centers and the Russian Academy of Education was presented.
