V.V. Putin: “Building an advanced and patient–oriented system of oncological care is a key direction in the development of Russian healthcare”

Such words were uttered in the official greeting of the President of the Russian Federation to the participants and guests of the Second International Forum of Oncology and Radiology at the official opening ceremony, which became a key message for the work of the forum participants.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation T.A. Golikova also sent an appeal to the Forum. The task of providing medical specialists with wide and fast access to knowledge about the latest developments, scientific achievements, medicines, technologies and equipment is solved, among other things, at such authoritative forums. The discussion opportunities provided by the format of the event are of exceptional importance for the development of oncology.

The opening ceremony took place on September 24 at 12:00 in one of the best business centers in Moscow – the WTC, and gathered more than 4,000 guests from Russia, Japan, Italy, France, Hungary, Serbia, China, Israel, Germany, the United States of America, Austria, Great Britain, CIS countries and Eurasia.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation G.N. Karelova, First Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation G.V. Trubnikov, Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation O.O. Salagai, Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation I.P. Potekhina, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation A.S. Besprozvannykh, Deputy Chief Scientific Secretary of the Russian Academy of Sciences S.I. Kolesnikov.

According to the chairman of the organizing committee of the Second International Forum of Oncology and Radiology, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.D. Kaprin, guests will be able to see the most unique operations that we will broadcast from clinics in Moscow and Yaroslavl, and hear about the most interesting studies from their authors. The forum will feature presentations by such stars of the first magnitude as Rainer Rienmuller (Austria), Michel Coleman (England), Wolf Wieland (Germany), Nadezhda Rozhkova, Andrey Vazhenin, Vladimir Uiba, Alexey Belyaev (Russia), representatives of Hungary, Serbia and many others. Participants will have the opportunity to get acquainted with opinion leaders, discuss issues of concern, exchange experiences and, of course, communicate in an informal setting.

As part of the ceremony, many surprises were prepared, one of which was the performance of the children’s collective of the Irina Berezhnaya production center “Starlab”. The children, among whom were young performers who had cancer, presented surprisingly heartfelt musical compositions to the guests of the ceremony. At the end of the ceremony, young oncologists who became winners of the 2019 Young Specialists competition, which was held by the Association of Young Scientists, were awarded. The first place in the competition was taken by Olga Plotnikova from Primorsky Krai, who received a grant to participate in the European Cancer Forum 2020.

On September 24, the signing ceremonies of three agreements on mutual cooperation and exchange of experience were also held. Agreements were signed between the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia and the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, ONS “Association of Oncologists of Russia” and the Foundation for the Development of Expert and Analytical Activities “Content” and the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of Russia and the First St. Petersburg State Medical University them. Academician I.P. Pavlov” Ministry of Health of Russia.

The Forum will continue its work until September 27, but today the participants emphasize the high level of organization of the event and a rich scientific program that corresponds to the European scale. For the first time in the long history of such events, the Forum program covered absolutely all aspects of cancer care.

The forum program for September 25, 26 and 27 includes more than 60 events, including a Congress of health care organizers, a patient session, an information and educational campaign “Oncopatrul”, the IV international readings in memory of Academician A.F. Tsyba, the All-Russian Congress with international participation “Photodynamic therapy and Photodiagnostics”, the congress “Malignant skin Tumors”, the ENDOONCO Congress with master classes and video broadcasts from the operating rooms of the P.A. Herzen Moscow State Medical Institute, and much more.
