Visit of the First Lady of the Republic of Mozambique to the NMIC of Radiology

On August 21, 2019, an official delegation headed by Her Excellency First Lady Isauru Newsy arrived at the NMIC of Radiology on a visit from the Republic of Mozambique. The group also included the spouse of the Ambassador of Mozambique to the Russian Federation and the spouse of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Mozambique.

The guests were met by the Director General of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.D. Kaprin, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Public Relations of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation S.M. Muravyev, Deputy Director General of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation A.A. Kostin and the head of the National Center for Oncology of Reproductive Organs of the P.A. Herzen Institute of Medical Sciences N.I.. Rozhkova.

Within the framework of the meeting, a presentation of the work of the NMIC of Radiology, its scientific and clinical experience was held, and the guests also visited the radiotherapy department, where they were shown the technology of research using the Infinity device. According to Isauru Newsy, today in the Republic of Mozambique there is also a trend towards the growth of oncological diseases, and the government is looking for new advanced ways to solve them. That is why the experience of Russia is very useful, especially in matters of improving professional education, the level of medical care with the use of modern information technologies and the capabilities of mobile mobile systems.

Speaking to the guests, A.D. Kaprin noted that the NMIC of Radiology has great potential, which we are ready to share with our foreign colleagues. He dwelt in detail on the unique methods of treatment of ZNO, which the Center has.

The presentation of N.I. Rozhkova’s “Mammographic screening system” aroused great interest among the Mozambican guests, especially in the organization of screening and the experience of medical examination of the population.

Following the meeting, Ms. Isauru Newsy proposed to create a working group to prepare a memorandum of cooperation between the two countries in the field of oncology.
