Currently, the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation is conducting large-scale diagnostic testing of the new COVID-19 coronavirus infection in order to identify the carrier, the risk of community-acquired types of pneumonia and severe complications of the disease.

PCR diagnostics

Based on molecular genetic profiling of the patient’s DNA and tumor tissue, the risk of developing malignant neoplasms, including second primary tumors, is assessed, an algorithm for individual diagnosis, treatment and prevention is developed.
PCR diagnostics reveals the carrier RNA of SARS-Cov-2, MERS-Cov- and similar viruses associated with severe respiratory coronavirus infection.

The design and equipment of the Laboratory are regulated by the Guidelines (MU 1.3.2569–09) “Organization of work of laboratories using methods of amplification of nucleic acids when working with material containing microorganisms of pathogenicity groups I-IV”.

Activities in the specialties “Genetics”, “Medical Genetics” and “Laboratory Genetics”, as well as permission to perform work related to microorganisms of group III-IV pathogenicity.

As part of the implementation of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection 2019-nCoV (COVID-19), the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation is currently conducting large-scale diagnostic testing of a new coronavirus infection COVID-19 in order to identify the carrier, the risk of community-acquired types of pneumonia and severe complications of the disease.

PCR diagnostics is performed in order to identify RNA coronaviruses causing severe respiratory infection: MERS-Cov and SARS-Cov, in biological material using kits and test systems registered with the Ministry of Health and approved for use, by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with hybridization-fluorescence detection

  1. “Amplisens Cov-Bat-FL” RU No. RZN 2014/1987 dated 03/25/2020. RT-PCR with hybridization-fluorescence detection of amplification products; qualitative analysis on the Rotor Gene, Qiagen platform.
  2. By the method of reverse transcription and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in real time (“SARS-Cov-2 / SARS-Cov” LLC “DNA Technology TS”, RU No. RZN 2020/9948 of 01.04.2020) on the platformeDT-prime.

The main type of biomaterial for laboratory research is the material obtained by sampling a smear from the nasopharynx/oropharynx in order to perform a study on COVID-19 infection.
The laboratory staff is equipped with all the necessary protective equipment, involving work with microorganisms of the III-IV stages of pathogenicity. The duration of the study does not exceed 24 hours. Patient’s route

Patients and their relatives can apply to any branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “NMIC of Radiology” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for a molecular diagnostic study, as well as submit a biomaterial for analysis (blood or glass/ paraffin blocks)
