Da Vinci Robotic Surgical Systems
Da Vinci Robotic Surgical Systems is a modern and innovative method of laparoscopic operations. Following the latest trends in surgery, National Medical Research Radiological Center installed the DaVinci System in one of its branches – N. Lopatkin Scientific Research Institute of Urology and Interventional Radiology. Thanks to the high precision of the movements and three-dimensional increase in the operating field, the system allows to carry out the most complex interventions with minimal injury to the surrounding tissues.
N. Lopatkin Scientific Research Institute of Urology and Interventional Radiology (SRIUIR) contact center:

- Personalized approach
- Unique methodology
- Quota treatment
- Patients from any region of Russia, near and far abroad
This is a modern and promising field of laparoscopic surgery, which allows to perform complex surgical procedures with minimal trauma to the surrounding tissues and has several advantages compared to traditional laparoscopy. Especially when working in limited spaces – such as the small pelvis area.
System da Vinci Xi (IS4000)
Next step in the development of minimally invasive surgery. This is the fourth generation of da Vinci robotic surgical systems developed by Intuitive. The system can be used in a wide range of minimally invasive surgical interventions and has been optimized for multiquadrature operations in gynecology, urology, thoracic and general surgery.
The Xi system provides efficient anatomical access throughout the abdominal and thoracic cavity, extending the functions of the da Vinci system and its core technologies: EndoWrist tools, 3D-HD visualization, intuitive control and ergonomic design.
As with all da Vinci surgical systems, the surgeon is 100% in control of the robot, which translates the movements of his hands into smoother and more precise movements of miniature instruments inside the patient’s body. Thanks to the binocular system of video vision, the surgeon sees in front of him a three-dimensional projection of the operating field. The system allows you to enlarge the image of the operating field up to 10 times.
Surgical intervention of the robot-assisted surgical system da Vinci
The first operation using the robot-assisted surgical system da Vinci in urology was performed in January 2024, and to date more than 100 robotic operations have been performed. The clinic performs surgical interventions for cancer of the genitourinary system. It is mainly a radical prostatectomy with no resection, extended lymphadenectomy. Renal resection. Radical cystectomy with intestinal bladder surgery. The use of a robotic system results in rapid recovery of the patient after surgery, rapid recovery of urine retention function, maintenance of erectile function.
The surgical intervention is performed with the direct participation of a surgeon who sits behind a special console, where he sees the surgical field in three-dimensional measurement and controls the instruments using two joysticks and foot pedals. The subtlest tools of the robot have seven degrees of freedom, which allows to perform manipulations inaccessible to the human hand.
Indications
The system is used in such medical fields as oncology, urology, gynecology, abdominal surgery and others. At the Center to use the robot surgeons’ resort in the most difficult cases – for example, in cancer pathologies, pelvic diseases, bladder, prostate gland, where jewelry accuracy is required literally.
Contraindications
Contraindication is severe comorbid background, as well as severe chronic diseases in the decompensation stage.
Patient pathway
Thanks to the technological capabilities of the robotic system, doctors are able not only to provide a high-quality surgical intervention, but also, very importantly, to preserve the patients’ sexual function, urine retention function and vascular nerve bundles. The system allows you to look at anatomical structures from a convenient angle that was not available in open or laparoscopic surgery, and achieve high manipulation accuracy, which in many cases improves the clinical result.
To solve the question of the possibility of Da Vinci Robotic Surgical Systems, the patient needs to receive a consultation with the operating surgeon – Sergey Vladimirovich Mishugin, in the Polyclinic of our Center.
Primary consultation will be free if the patient has a referral in the form 057/u. More details can be found here. In the absence of the necessary studies, the doctor may prescribe to undergo additional examinations, which are carried out at the place of residence.
The decision to undergo Da Vinci System in the branches of the NMRRC is made by the patient selection committee.
The documents required for in-person consultation in the center.
- compulsory medical insurance policy
- passport
- hospital release report describing the surgery performed
- cytological preparations
- histological preparations (slides, paraffin blocks)
- results of recent examinations, MRI scan
