Oncological Сheck-Up of the Body

The body check-up is a comprehensive program for the detection of malignant diseases, the aim of which is not only early diagnosis of cancer, but also detection of possible precancerous signs.

Unfortunately, despite the development of science and medicine, cancer affects the lives of many people of all ages and remains one of the leaders in mortality rates among the population. There are many possible causes of cancer, including the influence of negative provoking factors, hereditary predisposition and many others. We cannot exclude these factors from our lives, but it is in everyone’s power to protect their health as much as possible, and the best way is early cancer diagnosis – a check-up program to detect early forms of cancer.

Cancer prevention and early detection are the most important components in the fight against this insidious disease. Regular check-ups and examinations at regular intervals of age not only ensure early diagnosis of cancer and identify the risks of tumour development, but also significantly increase the chances of successful treatment in case of detection of malignant disease.

Get a check-up for early diagnosis of cancer

Everyone should have a check-up in time. But people with an increased risk of developing cancer should pay special attention to the importance of regular check-ups:

  • a confirmed cancer diagnosis in a relative at present;
  • cases of detected malignant neoplasms in the family in the past;
  • excessive alcohol consumption and smoking;
  • presence of other risk factors for cancer;
  • alarming symptomatology.

What is the difference between the program for detecting early forms of cancer and general medical check-up, and what examinations are included in the check-up for diagnosing cancer?

Oncological Сheck-Up of the Body

Unlike the general medical check-up, the program of early cancer detection is an in-depth medical check-up, which includes not only a standard set of tests and laboratory examinations, but also specific methods of instrumental diagnostics that can “catch” cancer in its infancy. Check-up (check-up) program for detection of early forms of cancer diseases allows not only to make a complete picture of the patient’s health according to his age group and assess the risk of pathologies, but also, if necessary, to make a preliminary diagnosis and subsequently start treatment.

Among the examinations performed to diagnose cancer in the early stages:

  • Ultrasound of the abdominal cavity, small pelvis, thyroid gland, etc.;
  • Mammography;
  • CT scan of the lungs;
  • If it’s necessary, biopsy and cytologic studies;
  • PCR-test for the presence of human papillomavirus;
  • Colonoscopy and gastroscopy

and many other tests.

Frequency of oncologic check-up of the body

Regular check-up (check-up) diagnostics and detection of the problem at an early stage – the key to a successful fight against cancer. But how to determine with what periodicity it is necessary to pass medical check-up (check-up) oncological profile?

In the interest of their health, every person should systematically undergo check-up examinations according to age recommendations:

  • women under 35 – every 2-3 years;
  • women after 35 – every year;
  • men under 35 – every 2-3 years;
  • men after 35 – every year.

However, in case you have detected any alarming symptoms, you should contact an oncologist and undergo a check-up as a matter of urgency. Also, depending on the results of the scheduled check-up, the oncologist may prescribe additional examinations and recommend an individual schedule of diagnostics for you.

Why is it so important to have regular check-ups?

The answer to this question is repeated day after day by all oncologists around the world: “Early diagnosis of cancer determines successful cancer treatment”. Often people are negligent about their health and go to the doctor only when there are clear signs of the disease, but many cancers do not show symptoms at the initial stages.
