The primary task of the National Medical Research Radiological Centre (NMRRC) of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation is to fulfill the state assignment of providing high-tech medical care to citizens of the Russian Federation, including effective treatment of oncological diseases.
The Centre includes leading specialized institutions such as the P. Hertsen Moscow Oncology Research Institute (MORI), the A. Tsyb Medical Radiological Research Center (MRRC), and the N. Lopatkin Scientific Research Institute of Urology and Interventional Radiology — a specialized division offering a full range of care to patients with urological diseases.
The types of urological diseases the institution specializes in include:
- Oncological diseases of the urinary system (cancer of the prostate, kidneys, bladder, ureters, and other organs)
- Benign diseases of the prostate (adenoma, prostatitis)
- Urolithiasis (kidney and urinary stones)
- Inflammatory diseases of the genitourinary system (cystitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis)
- Disorders of urination and kidney function
- Diseases of the male reproductive system
At the National Medical Research Radiological Centre and its branches, over 520 highly qualified physicians — including doctors and candidates of medical sciences — and about 1250 physicians of the highest and first qualification categories work. Together with researchers, nurses, and technical staff, they provide comprehensive and individualized care to tens of thousands of patients annually.
Thanks to modern equipment and innovative methods, the Centre offers a wide range of high-tech services, including over 14,000 surgical operations per year, chemotherapy treatment for more than 12,000 patients, as well as comprehensive diagnostics and health monitoring.
Each year, the NMRRC provides high-quality medical care to more than eight thousand patients under state guarantees.
Thus, the institution is one of Russia’s leading centers providing modern treatment of urological diseases at a high level — from diagnosis to individually tailored therapy and rehabilitation.
