Reference center for verification of results of microbiological studies

Tasks and functions

On the basis of National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Reference Center has been organized to verify the results of microbiological studies carried out by medical organizations providing medical care in the field of oncology.

The reference center has been created at National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation to provide diagnostic specialized medical care to patients with cancer to perform the following:

1. Assessment of the frequency of antibiotic-resistant strains in cancer patients with infectious complications.
2. Determination of the mechanisms of resistance of the main microorganisms to antibiotics.
3. Verification of the results of microbiological studies carried out by medical organizations providing medical care in the field of oncology.
4. Providing information interaction, including telemedicine consultations, assessment, interpretation and description of the results of microbiological studies, as well as repeated diagnostic testing of biological material.
5. Conducting educational activities for laboratory specialists in terms of compliance with standards for performing studies and formulating a diagnosis.

Areas of work

The organization of work of the Reference Center is carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation and the regulations on the Reference Center, approved by the head of National Medical Research Radiological Center of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

The Reference Center operates in cooperation with medical organizations of the Russian Federation that provide medical care to patients with cancer, medical organizations and research institutions subordinate to federal executive authorities, and other organizations.
