High-tech Medicine

The Institute is a pioneer of the Russian healthcare in the development and introduction of advanced methods of endoscopic urology, urodynamics and neurourology, molecular genetics into clinical medicine.

High-tech Diagnostics

Fusion Biopsy is the most accurate method of diagnosing prostate cancer by combining MRI and ultrasound data to precisely target the tumor site. This diagnostic method is used in all branches of the National Institute of Radiology.

Surgery of the 21st Century. Robot‑Assisted Technologies

The Scientific Research Institute of Urology and Interventional Radiology is actively implementing robot‑assisted laparoscopic technologies — they represent the modern standard of high‑tech surgery. Procedures are performed using the Da Vinci robotic surgical system, which enables maximum precision and reduces the invasiveness of the intervention.

Specialists perform a wide range of reconstructive and plastic surgeries on the urinary tract for both adults and children, including those using advanced techniques.

The institute is also known for developing and introducing minimally invasive technologies, such as transurethral resection; percutaneous and transurethral surgery for urolithiasis; brachytherapy for prostate cancer. The widespread use of laparoscopy makes it possible to perform complex surgeries (including oncological and bariatric procedures) without large incisions.

5

Universal integrated operating rooms for performing open and laparoscopic urologic and oncourologic surgeries of any level of complexity

2

Endoscopic operating rooms for transurethral, percutaneous interventions.

N. Lopatkin Scientific Research Institute of Urology and Interventional Radiology has a modern anesthesiology service equipped with extra-class anesthesia equipment, providing patients with intensive care around the clock.

Treatment of renal failure and kidney transplantation

N. Lopatkin Scientific Research Institute of Urology and Interventional Radiology is the only one Institute in the country where transplantation of genitourinary organs with hemodialysis support is performed. All types of organ transplantation are performed to replace lost kidney function for both adults and children.

Complete correction and treatment of the full range of congenital pathologies of the urinary system organs, including lower urinary tract reconstruction and kidney transplantation is performed.

The park of “Artificial Kidney” devices has 20 dialysis beds working in 4 shifts around the clock, a high-capacity water treatment system is installed, the quality of water fully complies with international standards. At the same time 120 people receive medical care per day. The day hospital conducts more than 24000 hemodialysis procedures per year. read more

In order to determine the treatment program and prescription of surgery, it is necessary to perform mandatory diagnostics. On the basis of the N. Lopatkin Scientific Research Institute of Urology and Interventional Radiology has innovative methods of Fusion Biopsy, which is a method of point diagnostics of oncology. Fusion Biopsy allows combining the methods of tomography and ultrasound.

The effectiveness of oncology treatment in N. Lopatkin Scientific Research Institute of Urology and Interventional Radiology is based on modern methods, including Molecular Genetic studies, which allow to assess the pathological process during treatment.

The center also uses modern methods of treatment in the field of Oncogynecology and Oncourology, as well as in the field of Pediatric Urology and Andrology, which make it possible to improve the quality of life of patients, prolong the remission period in oncological diseases and improve the quality of their life after kidney transplantation thanks to the Hemodialysis Service.
